Local authorities across the country could be missing a great opportunity to tackle unemployment in their area.
By simply using their planning and procurement powers in the right way, they are able to secure construction apprenticeships for local people on new developments. Most surprisingly, this doesn’t require any major expenditure, just the right processes and procedures.
Using the innovative system, Construction Futures has already secured around 100 training placements and apprenticeships in West Northamptonshire.
It is now inviting local authorities in the East Midlands to learn how they can achieve the same results, in a series of free breakfast events.
