Construction firms in Northampton, Daventry and Towcester are now eligible for a range of heavily subsidised training courses.
Construction Futures works with local companies to improve the skills of their team, and offers subsidised training courses for small to medium sized contractors and subcontractors. This ranges from health and safety courses to National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs). It funds the first £1,000 of any training courses and subsidises 75% of the costs thereafter.
The training, which is delivered by Learning World and Moulton College, enables firms to invest in their workforce and improve their competitiveness at a fraction of the normal cost.
AJR electrical have sent their team on a series of the subsidised health and safety courses. Andy Reynolds from AJR Electrical said “We invest in training like this to help maintain a highly skilled and knowledgeable team. So far we’ve been on a range of the health and safety courses, which have combined practical experience with classroom style lessons. They offer major cost savings and are ideal for local business like us”
Peter Caffry from Construction Futures said: “A firm’s workforce is their biggest and most valuable asset. These training opportunities enable local companies to get a competitive edge by improving the skills and knowledge of their team. Crucially, each training programme reflects the individual needs of a business and is tailored to meet their requirements”
Construction Futures is managed by West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (WNDC) and is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
